Multicultural Bench by Veronic Rourke Locate in A Building of San Diego City Community College

This is one of a series of benches that was part of an ArtReach project. The benches used to be all over the city. I wondered where they all went. They were made of wood. So I supposed that they were removed to protect them from the elements. Rain is indeed a rare occurrence in San Diego but eventually it comes. I have since learned that the benches were auctioned off with the proceeds going to charity.

The artist is Veronica Rourke. You can see and buy more of her art at the Grrrrrl Power sight. You can buy the art she does at her day job as a textile artist at such stores as Target and Pier 1.

The Bench is on display in front of the elevator on the first floor of A Building at San Diego City Community College located at 1313 PARK BLVD, SAN DIEGO CA 92101-4712.

Banana and a Bottle of Beer

Lawn chairs are common possessions amongst the homeless. Generally they are of the collapsible variety and are pretty well maintained. This one is obviously at the end of its life cycle. It was photographed in Children's Park San Diego CA, 92101 on 4 August 2008.
